Hydrotherapy

Physio in the Water

Hydrotherapy, also referred to as water therapy, utilises the relaxing qualities of water to support rehabilitation and recuperation. Taking place in a comfortable pool setting, this gentle approach proves especially beneficial for individuals managing arthritis, recovering from surgery, or facing mobility limitations. Making use of the water’s natural resistance, clients can engage in exercise which enhances strength, flexibility, and balance while minimising strain on joints and muscles.

We are lucky enough to have access to the Hawke’s Bay Regional Aquatic Centre right next door. We offer group sessions and private one-on-one hydrotherapy.

Group Class Times

Wednesday 12:00pm-12:45pm

Friday 9:00am- 9:45am

How Does it Work?

Your initial appointment will take place at The Movement Co. clinic where the physio will get an understanding of your injury or problem and design a programme just for you.

Head to the pool during one of our group classes times or for your one-on-one session where the physio will take you through your personalised exercise plan and get you underway.

Group Classes

We take group sessions in the Learn to Swim pool which is warm and spacious. Everyone has their own programme and the physio supervising the class can help you with technique so you can get the most out of your session. Classes run for 45 minutes.

To take part in the group class you will need to be able to get in and out of the pool independently. There is a ramp with a very gentle slope and a rail, so it is easily accessible.

One-On-One Sessions

If you need more assistance to get into the water, or just want the top tier of service that we can offer, you can make a one-on-one water therapy appointment with the physio.
