Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach used by physiotherapists to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions. Precise techniques target joints, muscles, and ligaments to alleviate pain, reduce stiffness, and restore function.  This may be in the form of mobilisation, manipulation or soft-tissue treatment such as massage. Our clinic offers evidence-based manual therapy, delivered by skilled therapists, to return individuals back to an active and pain-free lifestyle.

Taping

Therapeutic taping is used by our physios to support injured or vulnerable areas of the body. It involves applying different types of tape to muscle and joints, to provide stability and reduce load during movement. Strapping can aid in pain relief, decrease swelling, and enhance proprioception – the body’s awareness of its position in space. By assisting in the recovery process, taping allows patients to safely engage in physical activities while preventing further damage. This can facilitate a quicker return to function and sports performance.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an effective and minimally invasive technique used by physiotherapists to treat pain and dysfunction. Thin needles are guided into trigger points, tight bands of muscle that can cause discomfort and restricted movement. The primary goal of dry needling is to release tension and promote muscle relaxation, reducing pain and improving range of motion. This treatment can complement other physiotherapy interventions and is particularly beneficial in sports injuries and longstanding muscle tension.

Exercise Rehab

Exercise-based rehabilitation focuses on improving strength and function through targeted movement. Tailored to each patient’s specific needs, exercise rehab aims to restore mobility, enhance stability, and alleviate pain. By addressing underlying contributors of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, exercise rehab promotes long-term recovery. Our physios  provide expert guidance through personalised exercise programs that gradually progress as clients’ improve. Whether recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or seeking to optimise performance you can be sure to have some level of exercise rehab in your care with us.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy, also known as aquatic therapy harnesses the therapeutic properties of water to aid in rehabilitation and recovery. Conducted in a warm pool environment, hydrotherapy offers unique benefits such as reduced joint stress, buoyancy, and enhanced circulation. This gentle approach is particularly valuable for individuals with arthritis, post-surgery, or mobility challenges. The water’s natural resistance enables clients to perform exercises that improve strength, flexibility, and balance while minimising impact on joints and muscles. We design a customised programme for each individual to undertake in one of our fun group sessions or one-on-one with the physio.

NormaTec

NormaTec is an innovative tool used by some of the worlds top athletes to accelerate recovery and enhance performance. The system employs dynamic compression to mobilise fluids in the limbs, reducing inflammation and promoting recovery. The NormaTec sleeves, which can be applied to the arms, legs, or hips, utilise a patented pulse massage pattern to stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Athletes and individuals recovering from injuries or intense workouts benefit from a reduction in swelling, improved circulation, and less muscle soreness. At our physiotherapy clinic, we integrate NormaTec as part of our comprehensive service, ensuring our clients achieve optimal physical well-being.

Athlete Evaluations

An athlete evaluation and movement screen is a specialised assessment conducted by our physiotherapists to analyse an athlete’s training schedule, energy demands and movement patterns. This comprehensive evaluation aims to identify areas of potential improvement that may enhance training and performance. After a thorough discussion about training and competition demands, the physio will assess joint mobility, muscle flexibility, stability, and functional movements specific to the athlete’s sport. The information gathered from the evaluation helps create a personalised plan and advice to support the athlete in reaching their full potential.
